What's this deck all about?
The Kanabo 38" kicktail is the first design in a new evolution of decks from Tomiboi Esk8 featuring hydraulic pressing and advanced composites. The Kanabo can be purchased with or without front/rear wheel-wells. Just make the correct selection above.
All decks from Tomiboi are made to order and the materials are customized to the individual rider's needs, but here is the basic lay-up for the Kanabo: First there are 7-9 layers of bamboo veneer at the core of the deck including 2 cross-cut sheets for added medial-lateral strength. Then a thick layer of 18 oz biaxial fiberglass or 23 oz triaxial fiberglass is applied to the deck as a base-layer depending on requirements. Lastly, a 4-10 oz woven fiberglass top-sheet is affixed.
Carbon-fiber can also be added to the Kanabo. Adding carbon-fiber to this deck makes it strong and light. There are two options for the carbon-fiber upgrade. Option one is to add a 19.6oz layer to the base of the deck. This is a practical choice, but if you love carbon-fiber, want an uber-strong deck and have some money burning a hole in your pocket, you can get "The Devil's Sandwich". For that option a 19.6oz layer of carbon-fiber will be added to both the top and bottom of the deck.
Glass frit and high-quality, course grip-tape are available, as well as a selection of colors.
There are four enclosures for the Kanabo: small single-stack and small double-stack, in addition to large single-stack and large double-stack. The enclosures are made from pressure thermoformed 2.5mm Kydex T. D-seal is applied to the rim of the enclosure to help keep dust and moisture out. M6 Hardware, sealing washers and professional installation are included with the enclosure.
